Franz Schubert was born in Vienna on January 31, 1797. At a young age, Schubert was tought by his father, and at six, he was enrolled to the Himmelpfortgrund school. His father tought him the basics of playing the violin.
Early Life
In 1808, Schubert became a student of Stadtkonvikt through a choir scholarship. At Stadtkonvikt, Franz Schubert was introduced to the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. These, as well as many trips to opera gave him the basic knowledge of music, which would follow him throughout his life. In 1813, Franz left Stadtkonvikt and became a teacher at his father's school.
Late Life
From 1826 to 1828, Schubert lived in Vienna. Not much past the work he did is known from this era of his life. Franz has been suffering from syphilis since 1822, and his health further deteriorated. The final sickness, however, is unknown, as he showed signs of mecury poisoning, as well as others.
